Economic expert Nguyen Xuan Thanh, lecturer at Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management attended the National Forum on Developing Vietnam Technology Companies organized by Ministry of Information and Communication on 9 May. This is the first conference on technology company addressing the question how to develop domestic technology firms into an economic breakthrough drivers, enabling Vietnam to escape middle income trap and rise to be among developed countries. Technology companies, in this context, include tech start-ups, solution consulting firms, technology transfers and traditional enterprises with affluent resources wishing to entering promising technology sector.

Last year, China experienced its slowest economic growth in nearly three decades. The trouble seemed to start in the fall. Wage growth has cooled. Surveys show that companies in the manufacturing sector have begun shedding jobs. And imports are down, hurting other major exporting economies.

There's more than one reason for the slowdown. A rapidly aging population, a falling birth rate, a tightening Federal Reserve, and a slowing global economy have combined to put the brakes on China's economy. Yet Beijing cannot risk a recession. The Chinese government will not allow growth to slow significantly, even if that means storing up problems for the future.

“Kéo” người dân sử dụng giao thông công cộng (GTCC) và “đẩy” họ khỏi việc sử dụng giao thông cá nhân là cặp chính sách “kéo - đẩy” cơ bản của bài toán giao thông đô thị. Nhìn từ góc độ này, tôi đồng tình với nhiều điểm trong dự thảo “Đề án tăng cường vận tải hành khách công cộng kết hợp kiểm soát sử dụng phương tiện cơ giới cá nhân tham gia giao thông trên địa bàn TPHCM”.
